Sycamore Llanding
Sycamore Llanding is truly one of Maryland’s oldest and most picturesque family estates on the Miles River.  Dating from 1659 when 350 acres were granted to the Honorable Martin Kirk, the property needed 15 full time gardeners, 100 slaves and 5 house servants to keep it going.

Throughout the years, Sycamore Llanding has undergone many changes and when it was sold out of the family, it was found that it was impossible to restore the home.  Nevertheless, the house was redone with an eye to retaining its original character.  Preserved are the fireplace mantles, stair rails and Newell posts from the 1820’s era.

Boasting of five luxurious bedrooms (three of which are en suite and two sharing a bath), exquisite formal dining room, a formal living room, library – complete with grand piano – a cozy den and an up-to-date kitchen with breakfast nook, this fine example of Eastern Shore architecture meets the criteria of the most discerning eye.  Truly an outstanding vacation rental home.
