The Beach House
In the town of Oxford proper, is a most wondrous surprise of a getaway – a house with its own private beach!   This darling 4 bedroom home has its living quarters upstairs and features an open-floor plan with kitchen, dining area, living room and one bedroom overlooking the lap pool, sandy beach and a dock which juts out into a spectacular broad water venue.  Upper and lower screened porches, a patio with retractable awnings, a pool and beach all equipped with fabulous outdoor furniture invites one to just kick back and enjoy the vacation time.

Light, bright and airy furnishings remind one of Nantucket.  Sisal rugs on the floors, filmy curtains at the windows and bright throw pillows accent the “beach house” persona.

On the ground (or 1st) floor are a queen bedroom with private bath, another en-suite bedroom with two single beds and a separate apartment with a queen futon and kitchenette.  The upstairs en-suite queen bedroom features a sauna and a small private balcony; the kitchen is fully equipped and the living room has a large screen TV and a fireplace for those unexpectedly chilly nights.  A DVD player and surround sound provide entertainment for all.

There is a 2-car garage and a dock with water, electric and a boatlift.  Go boating, do some fishing, drop your crab traps or just sit and enjoy the sunsets.  Some of Oxford’s well-known restaurants are within walking distance.  Drive down the main street of the town and take the ferry across the Tred Avon River to the village of Bellevue from which the town of St. Michaels is a short, scenic, drive.  While there, visit the many shops, galleries, museums and restaurants.  Truly an Eastern Shore vacation to remember!
